1. The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect on 02.04.2026 following the announcement of Urban Local Bodies elections in Himachal Pradesh (P1, P2, P7, P8).
2. All government departments under the Department of Digital Technologies & Governance must strictly comply with the guidelines issued by the Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission during the election period (P2, P9).
3. No tenders or contracts shall be finalised during the election process at the cost of the public exchequer (P10).
4. Partisan coverage in newspapers and other media intended to further the prospects of the party in power shall be avoided (P10).
5. The Department of Digital Technologies & Governance is required to obtain prior approval from the HP State Election Commission for any publication of emergency nature (P11).
