1. The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect on 02.04.2026 following the announcement of Urban Local Bodies elections in Himachal Pradesh (P1, P2, P7, P8).
2. All government departments under the Department of Digital Technologies & Governance must strictly comply with the guidelines issued by the Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission during this period (P2, P3, P9).
3. No tenders or contracts shall be finalised during the election process at the cost of the public exchequer (P10).
4. Partisan coverage in newspapers and other media during the election period, intended to further the prospects of the party in power, shall be avoided (P10).
5. The Department of Digital Technologies & Governance is required to inform the office whether their office is situated in the Urban Local Body area where the Model Code of Conduct is enforced or not (P11).
6. Any publication of emergency nature will only be made after obtaining necessary approval from the HP State Election Commission (P11).
